As the ATP releases its year-end rankings of the top tennis players, Rafael Nadal finds himself in unfamiliar territory as he finished in ninth place. This year has been a difficult one for the former top seed as he contended with injuries that led to early exits in major tournaments.

However, not everything is bad news for Mr. Nadal. Just recently, he officially inaugurated the Rafa Nadal Academy in his hometown, Manacor, Mallorca. A world-class center, the academy will allow promising tennis talents to transition to professional tennis without compromising their academic studies. In addition to world-class facilities, the academy boasts an American curriculum and specialized clinic services such as sports medicine, physiotherapy, and nutrition.

In a statement, Rafael Nadal claims that the school is his way of ensuring that he will be able to continue his passion in his hometown where he envisions to be based in the future.
